The coming 10 weeks will be very busy for me, i have a hefty school schedule and i need to finish all of them this schoolyear so its a big race to july and hope i can pass all of it.

due to this i can’t (and don’t) want to manage the ASR next to being very busy. Managing the ASR costs me a lot of hours every month and i just cant make time for it.

so. in july i will return, so this will be temporary.

Topazg will take over managing the ASR when im gone, so he will be “the boss” for a while.

All other admins will of course still be there, with the addition of hellsflame who has returned after a small hiatus! Hopefully she will be doing lectures again soon, but we will see:)

We have an exciting event coming up at the end of this month. Cornel Burzo (KGS Cornel), a KGS 7d from Romania, is hosting a 1.5 hour lecture targeted at players between 1 and 3 dan. This will take place in the ASR on the 28th of April at 19:00 GMT, and is open to anyone that wants to watch.

Please welcome the new face on the ASR team – RBerenguel. He’s coming in with fresh ideas, enthusiasm, and motivation, and hopefully will allow us to carry on finding ways to improve the ASR and take it forward through 2012 and beyond!

Another successful month is wrapping up, and there are a few new changes to announce for the new month.

Firstly, our admins hellsflame and kotomi have decided to take break from their work in the ASR. They’ve been an active part of the team for a few months now, so a great big thanks for your time and effort so far, and we hope to see you back around soon

Secondly, there are new superclass rules coming into play next month (and onwards) that should give a bit of additional motivation for those that have qualified to play there. For every Alpha player who has earned their place in the superclass, you have an opportunity to keep the place in the next month every time you manage to score 2 wins against other regular superclass players. Of course, winning 2 games against the quality of competition we have now is no easy task, as our Alpha representative sxjlove’s (KGS 6d) 0-3 record this month will testify. Obviously this may mean that more than one Alpha player is in the superclass in a given month, so it’s important to remember that only games against other regular superclassers count towards the 2 required wins.

I’d also like to make an ASR “fighting spirit” game of the month award, but I need nominations. Basically, any games where things were looking bad or difficult where you stuck in and fought it out to come back victorious is eligible. I’ll probably be doing the judging solo this month, but we may have votes on them if the idea becomes popular!

Today march league closed for new players. we finish the final stretch of the league with 346 players which means the ASR has grown a tiny bit yet again!

In terms of active players we are doing extremely well. As i’m writing this only 123 players have not yet played over 4 games, this means 65% of you guys are active!

Concerning the promotions from delta, we have to promote extra to keep the upper classes at its fixed sizes, right now i see that i need to promote 20 extra players from delta (though this number can lower as more players get active in the upper classes)

Since daylight savings has changed the timezone to one hour later i will probably end league an hour earlier if i do the reset. I just can stay up till 02:00 and then do the reset(something with life etc). i will keep you posted on this.

As of now the February league sign up has been closed and the final stretch of this month has begun!

good luck all you 339 players! Remember to play at least 4 games to stay in the league or you will be dropped and you will need to start from rock bottom again! So far 181 already have played enough for their participation into march, so get on with it and join them.

We decided that due to the size of gamma the safe zone should be extended. Now the top 12 players of Gamma will be safe from demotion. So make sure you reach those places and nothing can happen to you!
